Stuff to Bring
The list:
- Laptop for writing and editing pictures: IBM T43 (slowly dying).
- Camera for the nicest photos: Nikon D70 with DX 18-70mm 3.5-4.5 lens (already no more auto-focus).
- Camera point-and-shoot for videos: Canon A-570.
- A tripod for night pictures.
- Big backpack from Decathlon 80L.
- Sleeping bag good to 0 degrees.
- All the camping gears: stove, pot, tent, mini towel, Indiana Jones’ hat, fake Arcterix hiking pants bought in China.
- A bit of money to survive.
- English/Chinese dictionary in case my amazing skills in Chinese won’t be enough.
- The Lonely Planet Central Asia Phrasebook, for some Uighur conversations.
- Lonely Planet China.
- A pair of espadrilles, the French shoes, for the style.
- Some Q-tips.
- Perfume.
- A compass, in case I loose myself. (?)
- Lots of useless stuff.
- And a wonderful itinerary with many things to do and see and discover and get lost and ride camels and eat kebab…

Just a cool picture that makes me think about journalism somehow...
p.s: I forgot where I found it, but I guess it is copyright protected. Well, I send all my respect to the rights’ owner.
